A special thanks to all of our PanCan 5k sponsors earlier this month.

Runners and walkers gathered on Hog Neck Golf Course for a unique 5K race to support the fight against pancreatic cancer. The race took place at twilight and followed the cart paths around the golf course, ending after dark. Runners and walkers were dressed in purple, the color for pancreatic cancer. “Many came to support someone diagnosed with pancreatic cancer or in memory of someone who had passed away from the disease, said Bill Shrieves, President of the Mid-Shore Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. Pancreatic cancer is the third most deadly cancer in the United States with an estimated 44,330 people dying from the disease this year.

Tidewater Physical Therapy was the title sponsor for the event. “We are delighted to support this race and the fight against pancreatic cancer again this year” said Shawn Carter Jr., Clinical Director of the TPT St. Michaels office.
